Not Connected Yet?
No Worries.

Getting online with Tribe Fibre is simple, fast and hassle-free.

Installation Overview

There are two possible installation processes depending on whether you already have a working ONT (Optical Network Terminal) at your property.

If you already have a working ONT

We can either activate the line if there is no current service, or switch it to our network from your existing provider. Please note: if you are switching providers, you are responsible for cancelling your existing service.

If you do not have a working ONT

An engineer’s appointment will be required to complete the connection.

How to Get Started

To determine your installation requirements and ideal package, you can either:

After You Place Your Order

Once your order is placed, we’ll contact the network provider and begin the setup process. Your router will be posted to arrive the day before your activation date.

If there are any issues with your order, we’ll contact you via our support desk.

Once the order is committed, both we and the network provider will be in touch with further details.

What Happens on Installation Day

Getting ready for installation day? Here's what to expect:

Engineer Arrival

The engineer will arrive within the agreed time slot. They’ll bring everything required and will need the router we’ve sent you.

Assessing the Setup

The engineer will assess the best location for the fibre entry point and discuss where your router should be placed for optimal performance.

The Installation Process

Running the Fibre Cable: If external work is needed, a fibre cable will be run from the street to your property. This may require drilling a small hole in an external wall.

Fitting the ONT and Router: The engineer will install the ONT indoors and set up the router in the agreed location.

Testing the Connection: They’ll test the connection to ensure everything is working correctly.

Activation: In most cases, your service will be live before the engineer leaves. They’ll confirm everything is set up and test your speed.

Final Steps: The engineer will explain how to connect your devices and leave you with any relevant information.

Work Carried Out

Full Fibre Broadband Boxes Fitted

We’ll install two boxes — one outside and one inside. The ONT (internal box) will be positioned near your router and a power socket.

Drilling

The engineer will drill through an external wall. Please consider:

  • Renting? Ensure landlord permission for the work.
  • Obstructions? Clear access around installation areas.
  • Availability? An adult (18+) must be on-site during the visit.
  • Your Router? This will arrive via 1st class post before installation.

Tips for a Smooth Installation

  • Clear Access: Ensure there’s space around where the router will be installed.
  • Power Supply: Make sure there are available power sockets nearby.
  • Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask the engineer anything you’re unsure about.

Router Management

Our routers are fully managed. Once your line is live, we can remotely access your router to check configuration, signal strength, and line quality — ensuring everything is running as it should.
